Over 20 years of proven technical and management expertise in information assurance (IA), cybersecurity, information technology (IT), management of IT staff, systems engineering, and strategic planning. Over 15 years’ experience with expertise in U.S. Federal IT cybersecurity standards, including 7 years in direct support of DoD and DNI. He provides high level cybersecurity support at the CIO level for OSD and DNI. This support includes review, analysis, and providing feedback on cyber related strategy and policy across IC and DoD organizations. He has extensive experience in the application of NIST, DoD, IC, and other standards in the development of security strategies, policy development, application of systems engineering principles, and responding to higher level requests He has experience with application of Cloud Delivery models and applicable security controls through his role as a Cybersecurity SME reviewing security relevant changes and body of evidence artifacts for ODNI. He has experience supporting cross agency governance boards for DoD CIO and IC CIO. He supported DoD CIO in the development of DoDI 8500.01 “Cybersecurity,” and DoDI 8510.01 “Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT)”. Ten years experience as a George Mason University faculty member in the Volgenau School of Engineering, teaching Fundamentals and Advanced Network Cybersecurity at the graduate level.
